Be mine!

What kind of Valentine’s Day cards are you giving out this year? An e-card? One that talks when opened? These are creations of our modern age, but have you ever wondered what valentines looked like back in the old days?

A selection of historical valentines from the Augusta Museum of History’s collection will be on display Feb. 1-14. The selected cards range from the 1850s to 1910 and include many styles: from fringed to “pop-up,” to penny postcard valentines.

Museum visitors can also make their own Valentine’s Day cards on Feb. 13.

Visit www.augustamuseum.org or call (706) 722-8454 for details.
