Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces is excited to announce the 15th annual Sandy Springs Artsapalooza!

Join approximately 125 artists for one of Atlanta’s favorite art festivals. This 2-day event is one of the best shows of the year, with local musicians, gourmet food and interactive art activities for kids as well as a children’s area! Our event is said to be “great for families” and to have a “great atmosphere.” What a unique and fun way to spend Easter weekend with the family!

On Sunday, April 5, at 2 p.m. sharp we will release over 10,000 eggs in our annual egg drop for the children!

It may be common to measure using standard tools such as measuring tapes and cups, but Measurement Rules explores non-standard tools such as balancing scales, odometers, calipers, 3-D imaging and counting “Mississippis.” Explore this exhibit and become confident in the language of measurement through length, weight, volume and time.

The museum is closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

We’ve all imagined what it’s like to live and work in space, but only a select few have done it. Opening on Oct. 10, those who have lived in space will share their experiences with visitors in our newest traveling exhibition, Journey to Space.

Using hands-on and large-scale interactive exhibits and multimedia components, Journey to Space gives visitors a glimpse at the extraordinary conditions of human space travel, as well as the unique challenges and rewards of life on board the International Space Station.

The Ringgold Playhouse presents “Wait Until Dark,” a thriller by Frederick Knott, directed by Renee Lierow.

Friday and Saturday shows run from 7:30-10 p.m., and Sunday shows run from 2-4:30 p.m.

Senior/Student tickets are $12 and General Admission tickets are $15. Tickets on sale soon!

All Playhouse performances this year will be held at their brand new location at 7847 Nashville Street in downtown Ringgold.

Synopsis:

Frederick Knott’s thriller is the story of Susy Hendrix, a recently blinded housewife who unwittingly possesses a doll filled with illicit drugs. Harry Roat, a brutal and sophisticated criminal, coerces two small-time thugs into helping him con Susy into giving up the doll. A battle of wits ensues as Susy and the young girl upstairs launch a counterplot against the thieves. The drama plays on the themes of darkness and light as Susy navigates through her sightless world, and the crooks signal each other with light through the Venetian blinds.

Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum—an acclaimed museum dedicated to celebrating and preserving America’s maritime legacy—is delighted to present “Beyond the Plate: Sea and Sky,” an exciting new solo exhibition featuring nautical-inspired, mixed-media art by Rob Strati, from September 25, 2025, through April 12, 2026. 

“Beyond the Plate” will showcase new work by one of America’s hottest contemporary artists. Strati has recently enjoyed sold-out exhibits at Duane Reed Gallery in St. Louis and FREMIN Gallery in New York and has sold work to top international art collectors in New York, London, Hong Kong, Dubai and beyond.

Strati’s art incorporates broken porcelain plates that have been embellished and adorned with creative details. The exhibition features the artist’s latest bold, kinetic mixed-media works and limited-edition prints as well as an ambitious site-specific installation that will be suspended from the ceiling of the Ships of the Sea atrium.

All of the art in “Beyond the Plate” will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum.

Spring is the perfect season for young riders to learn, grow and enjoy the outdoors, and the Spring Horse Camp brings all of that to life. Designed for beginners and experienced riders alike, this camp blends hands‑on horsemanship with fun, confidence‑building activities.

What Campers Will Experience

• Grooming, saddling, and basic horse care
• Trail rides and arena games
• Safety instruction and horse‑handling skills
• Creative activities and spring‑themed fun

As the weather warms and the barn comes alive, campers get the chance to build new friendships, strengthen their riding abilities, and connect with horses in a supportive, encouraging environment.

Cost: Military: $400/Civilian: $425

Five fun days filled with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math! (STEAM)

STEAM Break is taking over Tellus with hands-on fun, live demonstrations and mind-blowing discoveries. Each day brings a brand-new lineup of special guests ready to wow visitors of all ages! From LEGO™ robotics and life-sized droids to rideable hovercrafts and real fossils you can take home, we have something new happening every day.

Specia guests + Activities 

Monday - Meet the Techno Titans as they showcase their LEGO™ robot, built as part of the FIRST LEGO™ League’s Unearthed challenge, exploring how technology can assist archaeologists in the field. Then head over to Georgia Tech’s SENIC outreach table, where you can discover the world of nanotechnology through hands-on demonstrations of real nanotechnology products.

Tuesday - The force is strong on Tuesday! Grab a photo with fan-favorite droids, R2-D2 and BB-8, and try your hand at robotic engineering with our Scribbles. Then, electrifying live demonstrations, featuring a Jacob’s Ladder, Plasma Globe, Electrostatic Generator and more.

Wednesday - Kick off the day with a visit from the North Cobb Library Bookmobile to learn about careers in library science and experiment with ink! Then, join us for a special STEAM Break Lunch + Learn, with WSB-TV Chief Meteorologist Emeritus Glenn Burns. Make sure to stick around after the talk to check out the tools of a weather station, whip up a cloud in a bottle and create your own viewer to identify clouds in the sky.

Tellus Volunteer Nick Johnson will also be on hand to share his stunning astrophotography and provide tips for capturing some nice stars using your phone or cameras.

Thursday - Thursday features activity stations where guests can tackle magnetic tile builds, “touch” the stars with a tactile constellation activity and try their hand at surgery techniques with our laparoscopic dome. Plus, make sure to catch one of three performances of “Wheel of Science” — a live theater show that brings scientific concepts to life. Showtimes: 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. and last approximately 30 minutes.

Friday - Finish the week with a bang! Berry College’s Hackberry Lab students bring magnetic mayhem with race magnet cars, stack repelling rings and the chance to climb aboard a real, rideable hovercraft to experience Newton’s First Law of Motion in action. Then, visit with the University of Georgia’s GeoAmbassadors. Explore careers in geology, make your own fossil to take home, watch a liquefaction earthquake demonstration, and discover how rivers shape our world. Plus, don’t miss the chance to see pieces from our special Bill Montante fossil collection, not usually on display.
