Historic Savannah Foundation will host a special panel discussion titled "Designing the Next Layer of History: New Architecture in Savannah’s Historic Districts," as part of the 2026 HSF Lecture Series, “The People, Places and Stories That Define Savannah.” The panel discussion will take place on Thursday, April 16 with a wine reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by the discussion at 6 p.m. 

Moderated by Ellen Harris of Ethos Preservation, this panel discussion will feature architects Shedrick Coleman of ShEDDarchitecture, Neil Dawson of LS3P and Patrick Phelps of Hansen Architects. The panel will explore the opportunities and constraints of designing new construction in Savannah’s historic districts and consider whether the review process can evolve to produce more thoughtful buildings that contribute to Savannah’s architectural legacy.

Attendance is free for Historic Savannah Foundation members and $15 for non-members.
