Large Art Dreaming

This show is an ambitious collaboration between the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art and Athens artist Broderick Flanigan. This summer, Broderick is working with a group of students from Clarke County Middle School to create several large-scale panel murals, which will be featured as pieces of the exhibition and with a group of students from Morgan County High School, Clarke County High School, and Clarke County Middle School to create large-scale paintings and a mural design which will be painted live in the Museum's West Gallery from Sept. 27 to Oct. 9. For two weeks, visitors will be able to watch Broderick and the students slowly bring it to life. Together, they will create artwork inspired by Steffen Thomas’s "Brotherhood of Mankind" philosophy.
