Memorial Day Ride the Rails and Model Railroad Open House event Saturday and Sunday May 28-29. Offered is a 40 minute, 5 mile round-trip ride in open-air railroad motor cars departing the Historic Depot, traveling through the Iron Bridge over the beautiful Toccoa River, climbing the grade out of the river valley to Murphy Junction and then returning to the depot to view the extensive double deck model railroad representing the L&N railroad in the Tri-State area, circa 1948-52. The first trip departs at noon and the last at 4 p.m. Donation $15 adults 18+. Youths under 18 free when accompanied by paid adult. Free Parking. Model Railroad is accessible. Ride may be accessible depending on rider's ability to transfer.
