UNG Bands Alumni Weekend Outdoor Band Concert

On Saturday, April 20, the UNG Department of Music Presents the UNG Bands Alumni Weekend Outdoor Band Concert. This special matinee event will include the UNG Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band as they are joined by special guests, the Lumpkin Co. High School Band. The program will consist of audience-friendly music including a variety of styles and genres. The grand finale of the concert, an exciting piece titled “Ride” by Sam Hazo, will include all three combined groups and over 125 musicians!

The Lumpkin Co. High School Band is led by Mr. Cory Jackson, a Dahlonega native and UNG Music Education Alumnus (Class of ’22.) The members of the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic band are UNG undergraduates representing a wide variety of majors. Both ensembles are under the direction of Dr. J. Ashley Jarrell.

Admission is free for this 1 p.m. concert, which will take place in the courtyard of The Cottrell School of Business Building. Audience members are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets, food, and/or drink. Limited chair seating will be provided as well.
