Event Description

“The Wildly Diverse Music of 1973” is UNG’s next installment of the concert series “A Little Night(hawk) Music” that is celebrating the institution’s 150th anniversary.
Concert starts at 7:30PM
Music by pop legends Stevie Wonder, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, and Roberta Flack will rub shoulders with classical composers of the time such as William Walton and Arvo Pärt. Ragtime music by Scott Joplin featured in the 1973 film “The Sting” will also make an appearance, as well as a virtuoso solo cello work by Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson entitled “Lamentations: Black/Folk Song Suite”. This unique work sounds like a Bach cello suite infused with African-American blues.
