Boo at the Zoo
2026 Dates: October 17, 18, 24, 25 & 31
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Boo at the Zoo presented by Georgia Natural Gas is Atlanta’s favorite family Halloween festival! Wake the Komodo dragon, gila monster and hooded vultures!
Boo at the Zoo is FREE for Zoo Atlanta Members and children under 3; FREE with general admission. 

During the last three weekends of October from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., enjoy trick or treating, plenty of photo opportunities, themed entertainment and activities, costumed characters, and so much more. Costumes are welcome; please take a moment to read over our rules. 

Boo at the Zoo is about creating special memories with the family, not necessarily to bring home the biggest haul of candy. Come for the candy but stay for the fun! This event is rain-or-shine; however, some activities may be delayed or canceled due to rain. 

NEW FOR 2026: We’re expanding to a fifth day of Boo at the Zoo this year, and guess what? We’ll be hosting Boo at the Zoo on Halloween!

Entertainment and Activities:

– Kids’ Trick-or-Treat Lane: Visit booths along Trick or Treat Lane for some scary good treats! Kids can expect to visit about a dozen treat stations, collecting one piece of candy at each while supplies last. Note to grown-ups: Trick-or-treating is complimentary and designed for the kids. 

– Kids’ Craft: Get into the spirit with a fun, Halloween-themed craft while supplies last.  

– Carnival Games: Try your luck for a petrifying prize at our carnival games. 

– Family-Friendly Performances: To be announced! 

– Strolling Characters: You never know who you’ll run into! Keep an eye out for special characters roaming around the Zoo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Perfect for a photo-op! 

– Decorations: Boo at the Zoo décor includes mostly friendly spooks!   

This show will feature historic quilts from Carroll County and more recent works created by current residents. It will also feature bedspreads designed by Bruce Bobick for the Disney All Star Hotels in 1994.

Atlanta Food Festival vibes every week with food, crafts, music and kids' activities.

The Piedmont Division of the National Model Railroad Association proudly presents the Piedmont Pilgrimage, the annual tour of the Atlanta area's great model railroads. We are proud to showcase the craftsmanship and dedication of our members during this event. The 2026 tour will feature more than 60 remarkable model railroads to visit. As always, the Pilgrimage is open to everyone and is entirely free of charge.

The Pilgrimage kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 24, and will run for five weekends. Tours will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on both Saturdays and Sundays.

Step back in time to the Courtyard at Booluchville (Warm Springs) as the Spirit of Halloween Past comes alive!

Dress up your auto, truck or motorcycle, load it with candy, and join the fun! Little ghouls, ghosts, clowns and monsters will "trunk-or-treat" to the classic sounds of the '50s, '60s, and '70s. The family-friendly evening also features a scarecrow contest, nostalgic costumes, and great bites from the Xtreme Food Truck.

Festivities kick off at 6:30 p.m. Meet in the Xtreme Riders parking lot.

Seven Ladies is a new exhibition focused on Katharine Judkins Clark, Elinor Adler Dillard, Anna Colquitt Hunter, Lucy Barrow McIntire, Dorothy Ripley Roebling, Nola McEvoy Roos and Jane Adair Wright. Together, these seven women joined forces to purchase and protect the Isaiah Davenport House, an 1820 Federal-style home on Columbia Square, from being razed and founded Historic Savannah Foundation, a permanent organization dedicated to saving and preserving historic buildings throughout the city.

Through historic photographs, archival materials and interpretative storytelling, this inspiring exhibition explores each of these influential women, including their personal histories, lived experiences and the convictions that compelled them to serve their community at a pivotal moment in Savannah’s history.

Open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., this exclusive exhibition will remain on display at the Murray C. Perlaman and Wayne C. Spear Preservation Center inside the Historic Kennedy Pharmacy throughout 2026.

Calling all night owls for a Family NightCrawler at the Zoo!

Spend the night at Zoo Atlanta for a nocturnal adventure you won’t soon forget!

When the last guest leaves for the day, we invite you to stay! Come find out what really happens when the sun goes down. Which animals stay up late and how do others settle down for the night? And in the morning, how do animals greet the day? Join us as we explore these questions and more on an overnight adventure designed for families with children ages 6+.

Participating families will spend the majority of the evening outdoors walking around the Zoo with an Educator as their guide, stopping along the way to observe the nocturnal behaviors of the animals that call the Zoo home. During the evening, participants will have the opportunity to use night vision technology and will visit Scaly Slimy Spectacular to discover the nocturnal world of frogs, lizards, snakes, and turtles.

Participants will also enjoy a guided tour behind the scenes to discover how we care for animals every day. Learn about our new state-of-the-art veterinary complex, The Rollins Animal Health Center, and tour the Animal Nutrition Kitchen to find out what it takes to feed the Zoo!

After an evening of exploration, participants will sleep in indoor, climate-controlled rooms with sleeping bags brought from home. And then rise and shine for more fun! Enjoy a catered continental breakfast from Proof of the Pudding, an up-close Animal Encounter with some of Zoo Atlanta’s small Ambassador Animals, and morning visits to animal habitats to see how our Animal Care Specialists help the animals start their day. Participating families are invited to stay and enjoy the Zoo at their leisure at the completion of the program.

WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT DURING A NIGHTCRAWLER?

Rain or shine. This program happens rain or shine, and much of the program is outside. Please plan for the weather and dress accordingly.

The Zoo is made for walking! Most of this experience is spent walking around the Zoo, and there are multiple irregular surfaces and steep inclines. Plan to spend up to 5 hours on your feet touring the Zoo.

Come with a full belly. While we will take a break for a snack in the middle of the evening, please eat dinner before you arrive. And remember to bring your water bottle with you.

Embrace the dark. It’s called a NightCrawler for a reason. Explore the Zoo by the light of the moon and our Educators’ red-light flashlights. Guests may only use flashlights at bedtime.

Rustic camping meets the Zoo. All sleeping locations are in climate-controlled buildings with a restroom either in the building or nearby. Don’t forget to pack your sleeping bag!

Stay awhile. At the completion of your program the following morning, you are welcome to stay and enjoy the Zoo at your leisure.

Have FUN! This unique experience is unlike anything that you can do in Atlanta. We look forward to hosting you for an upcoming program!
